178 Vehicles Undergo Emission Testing on Jalan Puri Lingkar Luar Kembangan

The West Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-agency, in collaboration with the West Jakarta Metro Police, conducted emission tests on 178 two- and four-wheeled vehicles on Jalan Puri Luar Kembangan Selatan, on Thursday (7/16).

A total of 34 vehicles failed the emissions test

According to Aldi Jansen, head of the West Jakarta LH Sub-agency, the emissions test covered 51 gasoline-powered cars, 53 diesel-powered cars, and 74 motorcycles.

"A total of 34 vehicles failed the emissions test, consisting of one gasoline-powered car, three diesel-powered cars, and 30 motorcycles," he noted.

Aldi recommended that owners of vehicles that failed the test carry out the necessary maintenance to ensure their emissions meet the required standards. These vehicles will also be subject to progressive parking rates at selected parking facilities managed by the Jakarta Provincial Government.

"These emissions tests are part of the Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts to control air pollution," he asserted.

He therefore encouraged vehicle owners to service their vehicles regularly to keep exhaust emissions within the prescribed pollution limits.

"In addition to measuring vehicle emissions, the test also helps owners determine whether their vehicles need servicing or repairs," he added.

Vehicle owners can access their test results through the Jakarta Emissions Test website https://ujiemisi.jakarta.go.id/ or the Jakarta Provincial Government's e-Uji Emisi app.

West Jakarta Assistant for Economy and Development, Imron Sjahrin, encouraged residents to take advantage of the free emissions testing program organized by the Jakarta LH Agency, noting that it not only comes at no cost but also helps owners assess their vehicles' condition.

"Keeping vehicle emissions within the required standards will certainly benefit the environment. And when air pollution remains within safe limits, it will also have a positive impact on public health," he explained.
